The BMW 2 Series has captured the minds of buyers of the premium compact segment.The new convertible from the 2-Series range further sweetens the compact sporty driving dynamics with a wind-inspired experience even sweeter.The 2 Series Convertible already has classic proportions, front-engine, rear-wheel drive, BMW's agility and roomy top.You might be wondering how slicing the 2 Series coupe might affect the stiffness of the entire frame, but we're happy to report that the torsional stiffness of the body has increased by nearly 20 percent compared to its predecessor.

BMW offers four model variants, the 220i, 220d, 228i and the hot m235i, all of which are turbocharged.The BMW 220I Convertible has a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine pumping out 184BPP of peak power, and the 228I Convertible has a similar 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine pumping out a higher maximum power of 245BPP.The only diesel variant has a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that makes 190bhp.For drivers who ask for more, there's a red hot M235i convertible version that does a generous 326bhp max power and sprint with a quick 5.0-second 0-100kmph with automatic transmission.

The new electric fabric top has additional insulation for optimized acoustic comfort.At the push of a button, the roof will open and close in 20 seconds, even driving up to 50kmph when needed.Customers can choose from three roof colors: black (standard), anthracite, silver effect and brown, silver effect (optional).The new 2 Series convertible will get an extended range of driver assistance systems and mobility services from BMW ConnectionDrive, such as anti-glare high beam assistant, adaptive headlights, parking assistant, rear view camera, driving assistant, speed limit information Display, cruise control with braking function, extended integration of smartphones and music players, real-time traffic information, online entertainment, extended functionality provided by apps provided by Internet-based services such as Facebook and Twitter.Currently BMW India has no plans to bring this model to the Indian lineup.
