TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Toyota Motor Corp said on May 30 that it missed its globalproductiontarget for April as the coronavirus outbreak and parts shortages slowed the recovery,media reported.

The world's largest automaker by sales volume produced 692,259 vehicles in April, down 9.1 percent from a year earlier and missing the company's previously planned production target of 750,000 vehicles.Last week, Toyota also lowered its June global production plan to about 800,000 vehicles due to the impact of the epidemic, and signaled that it may cut its full-year production target of 9.7 million vehicles.This has raised concerns about severe disruptions to the auto industry's supply chain and questions about how long the disruptions will last.

Among them, 27,598 units were produced in Japan and 162,462 units were produced in markets outside Japan.In terms of sales, Honda sold 37,422 vehicles in Japan in April, down 78.3% year-on-year; export sales were 3,574 vehicles, down 59.6% year-on-year, most of which were exported to the European market.
