NIO delivered 7,024 new cars in May, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%

On June 1, NIO announced the delivery data for May 2022, showing that a total of 7,024 new cars were delivered in May, a year-on-year increase of 4.7% and a month-on-month increase of 38.4%.Among them, the smart electric flagship sedan ET7 delivered 1,707 units in the month.As of May 31, NIO has delivered a total of 204,936 new vehicles.

Entering May, the domestic epidemic situation has relatively eased, automobile consumption demand has gradually been released, and the automobile industry has improved as a whole.On a year-on-year basis, compared to other new car-making forces, NIO’s growth rate is not too high.According to the latest data, Li Auto delivered 11,496 Lili ONEs in May, a year-on-year increase of 165.9%; Xpeng Motors delivered 10,125 units in May, a year-on-year increase of 78%.

On the whole, NIO’s vehicle deliveries in May were affected mainly due to the following two reasons: First, the company’s production capacitywas constrained to a certain extent by the continuous impact of the epidemic and supply chain shortages;Difficult to deliver.You must know that Shanghai is the core sales location of NIO, with sales accounting for nearly 20% of the company's overall market share.

However, NIO said that demand for orders continued to be strong in May. With supply chain companies resuming work and production, it is expected that production will resume further in June and new car deliveries will accelerate.

It is also understood that the smart cockpit hardware upgrade plan consisting of 8155 chips, smart gateways, high-definition cameras, 5G modules, etc. will be announced at the new product launch conference held by NIO in the near future.
