As we previously reported, the Buggati Veyron will be replaced by a faster successor next year. The latest reports from now suggest that the heir will receive a "Chiron" nameplate.

Designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro from Italdesign, Bugatti introduced the 18/3 Chiron in 1999 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. With this report coming, it's most likely to believe the moniker will make a comeback next year with Wilson's successor.

Chiron is the name of Greek mythology and a reference to Bugatti Racing Driver Louis Alexandre Chiron (1899-1979), who was influential in building the brand's legend early in the last century.Interestingly, the "Veyron" name also comes from another Bugatti Racing Legend, Pierre Veyron.

Born and raised in Monaco by Louis Chiron, started his career with Bugatti in 1928.He was active during the 1950s Formula 1 season and also campaigned for the likes of Lancia and Maserati during his career.Although he saw most of his success with a Bugatti, he eventually retired from racing in 1958.Although, the Chiron has never been honored with the Wilton of the last six 'Les Légendes de Bugatti' Sperudent Edition Veyrons, marking the end of the current car's production. However, his name is one of the original Giugiaro-Penned concepts, the company previewed the Veyron that the company produced in the late '90s.

The car will be packaged with an uprising version of the Veyron's Quad-ToniboShight 8.0-liter W-12, pushing the hybrid technology even further, with a top speed expected to be higher than the Veyron Super Sport's world-historic new top multiple of 430km
