Shell becomes BMW's recommended oil supplier

The oil company announced that Shell Lubricants will be the recommended manufacturer and supplier of BMW brand aftermarket motor oils in January 2015.This means Shell will manufacture and supply BMWS branded engine oils, adhering to BMW's engine specifications and underpinned by Shell's PurePlus technology.The partnership will be available in 140 countries, including India, and customers can use the BMW Group's network of more than 3,500 dealers to provide services.Shell Lubricants will be the recommended manufacturer and supplier of BMW brands including BMW, BMW I, BMW M, Mini and BMW Motorrad.

Nitin Prasad, Managing Director, Shell Lubricants India, said: "We are honoured to be selected as BMW's recommended aftermarket oil supplier. Partnerships with OEMs vary from offering off-the-shelf products to customised products for co-engineering. The oils have high quality standards and require engine oils designed to unleash the full potential of BMW engines and meet the latest specifications. From January 2015, we look forward to jointly supplying, distributing and marketing these oils.

In India, Shell Lubricants' service-filled and factory-filled customers include Hyundai, Ford, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, General Motors and Nissan.Globally, Shell Lubricants customer service fills include Hyundai at a global level, the Chrysler Group in North America covering the Chrysler dealer network, Europe and Volkswagen Europe and parts of Europe offering Mopar, Pennzoil and Rotella products.in Germany and China.Shell Lubricants provide factory fill to existing customers, including Renault, Nissan, Ferrari, Daimler, Maserati, Kia Motors Europe and the Chrysler Group in North America.
