It's been a year since the Volkswagen Tiguan got its mid-cycle refresh in Europe, and now the spec Tiguan has finally arrived.Just like the preview, our updated Tiguan is a 2022 model year car.

Predictably, our Tiguan will remain a long-wheelbase version of the crossover, known in Europe as the Tiguan Allspace. We get bigger because we like big things, and the long-wheelbase version delivers just that. The photos released today are the first we've seen of the version, giving us a visual update to the larger crossover.

All of these changes are actually the same ones we saw on the Euro-spec Tiguan a few months ago.It has revised front and rear bumpers. The new LED lighting unit pulls up both ends of the car, with the horizontal DRLs standing out from side to side. The new lettering for the badge and the new Volkswagen logo have been installed.Every trim level can kick off a new wheel design. The overall design of the car remains the same, but the look is sportier, and the hairstyle is more user-friendly and technologically advanced. We like the changes, even if they don't significantly alter the Tiguan's appearance.

The interior has been updated with a series of new technologies.VW ditched the analog gauges in favor of two different digital cockpit options. The base screen is an 8-inch display, and the upgraded version is a 10-inch screen for greater customization.Volkswagen updated the infotainment system to its MIB3 software, then added pure features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto alongside the wireless charging pad.
