SpaceX has been around for nearly 20 years, and the Elon Musk-led company has beaten every other startup in space exploration in almost every way.Except for one small detail: One of its main competitors, Blue Origin, will make headlines in July when it becomes the first company to send its founder into space.

As most of you already know by now, Blue Origin plans to send its first tourists to the edge of space on July 20.The company created the spectacle by auctioning off one of the six seats in the capsule used for the mission, and the highest amount anyone was willing to pay seemed to be $2.8 million.

Until now, the passengers' names were unknown, but today, thanks to an announcement on Instagram, Jeff Bezos revealed the name of the ship's most important visitor: himself. He didn't go alone, but with his brother Mark.

"Since I was five years old, I've dreamed of traveling to space. On July 20th, I'll be on that journey with my brother. The greatest adventure, with my best friend," Bezos Announcement on Instagram (video below).

So, we now know the names of two people aboard the New Shepard. The third place was the winning bidder in the auction, so there were three seats left.

Spaceflight is hardly a proper spaceflight. The New Shepard will launch with the crew capsule on, and at 220,000 feet (67 kilometers) the separation will occur. From there, the capsule will travel a little more to 328,000 feet (100 kilometers), where people on board will experience weightlessness.

They will only stay at the edge of space for a short time before descending with the help of parachutes.
