Rolls-Royce unveils a new technology center

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced that a new technology and logistics centre will be built in Bognor Regis, near Weldwood, Rods-Royce Home in West Sussex.The technology and logistics center will be located in the Old Regional Farms Business Park on the northern edge of Old Land Regis, eight miles from Rolls-Royce Motor vehicles.The new 30,000M2 center will consolidate many of the current logistics functions and allow for future expansion.Due to open in 2015, the centre will ideally enjoy the upcoming Bognor Regis Northern Relief Road.The centre will employ around 200 people out of 200, with a number of new roles in addition to those transferred from existing logistics functions.The technology and logistics center is scheduled to be fully operational in early 2016.

The centre will be managed by an external logistics provider on behalf of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.The technology and logistics center will integrate three current operations - an inbound warehouse for production parts; a distribution center, including an inbound body shop and finished car store and a car preparation shop.

Business Minister Matthew Hancock said: "This wonderful and great new centre in Bognor Regis will provide a huge boost to the local economy and safeguard 200 jobs. It is testament to one of our great UK success stories, Rolls -Royce and contributions to UK manufacturing."

The site has been identified by the Arun District Council as part of its enterprise Bognor Regis initiative.The area is being developed for a new premium commercial precinct in West Sussex, offering mixed office, industrial and support developments, delivering next-generation buildings in a high-quality environment to sustain newly established and growing businesses.Rolls-Royce will be the first major business to take advantage of the initiative.
